Title: Alahn'Drea Isles: A Motley Crew Departs...
RP Leader: Calixa2212
Type of FP: Open to all!
This roleplay will be run in a different style than normal. At points, there will be a sort of 'choose your own adventure aspect'; as in, when I ask for ideas, the first two sensible ones, donated by you guys, will be the ones between which your character can choose to do. If some characters decide to take the left fork of a path, and the others the right, for instance, don't worry! It is all part of the fun, and I will make sure everybody ends up back together in the end for the grand finale. Pay attention as best you can as to where your group will head, and the going ons of your group. Don't worry too much about the others.
Setting: Currently, your character is on a boat, headed to explore the long abandoned Alahn'Drea Islands --> Click!
Plot Outline: Whoever you are, you decided to wanted to head to Alahn'Drea islands and explore them for a reason. Maybe it was because your character heard about the abundance of treasure, or the friendly native tribes, or perhaps your character is a bard or a scribe, and wants to write a story/song that will make them famous. Or maybe, you are an 'evil' character, wanting to conquer the islands, and bring strife to the rest of the world with the mythical weapons supposedly residing somewhere among the islands. Whoever you are, with my characters guidance, and your suggestions, we will be exploring the islands, and getting in to different sorts of trouble, but also uncovering a mystical past.
Characters: 1 character per person, unless you get permission from me first! Anybody allowed, except foals! Alliance doesn't matter, as these islands have been destroyed for a long time, and so they aren't affiliated.
Rules: All Standard RP Rules.
By the way guys, there will be prizes, so stay dedicated!
Starting Point: We start on the deck of a ship, about 30 minutes from arriving at the first island, Alahn. Get to know other characters, form acquaintances and so on before we land!
Summary: (coming later!)
Pandora SP: 20
Items: Golden Glowshoes, Yellow Tail Ribbon (disregard the rest in her pic :D)
Bio: She grew up in a blacksmith workshop, with her father. He taught he a few tricks of the trade, but she hardly puts them to use. She wants to find her own way and her own place in the world.
Pandora looked out at the approaching islands. A shiver of anticipation ran through her body. The islands were surrounded in mist, and were definitely the eerie abandoned islands the rumours had said.
She had arrived on this boat by accident. While she desperately wanted an adventure, something to spice up her dull life, she wouldn't ever have picked such a potentially dangerous adventure as this one. However, when its late, and you're tired, walking on to the wrong boat is always a hazard. Perhaps she shouldn't have left packing until the last minute, and wouldn't have been so late going to the dock. Now she was stuck on a boat headed for one of the least explored island chains in the Azuyan world, or so she knew.
She glanced back at the rest of the crew, wondering why they all were here. She supposed they had their tales, and stories, and while she was sure some of them out there would have wonderful adventure stories to tell, she was a bit too nervous about the approaching islands to ask. Maybe when they landed she would meet new ponies. For now, she retired to her quarters under deck, resting up for the big arrival.
Ch. 1 - Where is the Captain?
Shrouded in mist, the boat slowly approached the islands. It seemed that the land masses were not getting any larger in size, despite the advances they made. The waters were still, which was unusual for the Shaking Sea, adding to the already eerie feeling of this voyage.
Riding a wind towards the island, the crew probably hadn't noticed that the captain had not shown his face for a while... He was an old pony though, and this was probably going to be his last adventure before he retired, so perhaps he was just taking a nap? Or maybe, in a moment of weakness, he had grabbed some rations, and dropped away in a row boat, heading back for his home town. The islands were definitely eerie enough that an old guy like him might find it just too much to stay on course. Where ever he was, it didn't matter, because the boat was going to dock at the island in approximately half an hour, and due to the winds and tide, there wouldn't be anyway to turn in back.
The crew was mostly talking among themselves, getting to know each other before they departed the boat for the unknown.
((You may now post!))
Bel Esprit (SP 1)
Items: A purple cloak, a messenger bag. A dagger in case of emergency. (disregard the rest in her pic :D)
Bio: Bel grew up living with her parents and six older siblings. She was the youngest of her family so far. She wasn't really lonely as a child. But as she grew older, she began to gain a thirst for a little fun and adventure. So, she jonied the crew of this ship. her father was the one who taught her to fight, and also gave her the dagger that she carries with her in case she ran into any trouble. She treasures this dagger very much since her father made it himself.
Bel walked around. Looking for her quarters, she was very tired and wanted to rest before they arrived at the island. She opened to door to find a dark purr female in it. "Oh!. So sorry!. I was looking for my cabin and i must have gone into the wrong one!. So sorry!" Bel said. She then bowed her head lightly. She didn't want to be bothering her. She hoped she wasn't. Bel just kept her head down bowed lightly and waited for a reply. She didn't mind waiting very much.
Pandora glanced up suddenly at the brightly coloured earthie (Bel).
"Oh dear, you startled me!" She chuckled softly. With the eeriness of this trip, she had been expecting a ghost or something. She didn't normally believe in that sort of stuff, but she also didn't normally go adventuring to dangerous lands.
"My name is Pandora. Don't worry if you've found the wrong cabin, I don't mind being interrupted. I wasn't doing much of anything anyways. So what brings you on this boat?" She smiled softly.
Burning Soul (SP: 50)
(Will be replaced with an edit once on appropriate computer)
Magic: Flames respond to his emotions and indicate them through spikes/drops in heat and movement. Immune to the burning affects of fire, but not the force behind it.
Items: Onyx pendent, a silver chain with fire orb (fire orb is extinguished), a curved dagger, and a tattered bag holding a flaming tomato, a firefly nut, and a silver whistle (calls Elrin).
Bio: A relatively stand-offish stallion that doesn't trust others. Often reacting toward ponies he doesn't know well with aggression and hostility. After losing both his cloth bandages and mask he has become fairly skittish and often flinches away from the slightest touch. As if expecting pain. Soul is a big boned stallion and is a bit taller than most other Valkyries, standing at approximately 15 hands (5 feet).
Pets: Elrin - A large red and black viper with yellow eyes.
Soul stood near the center of the deck. His blue eyes trained on a young turquoise Reindeer stallion, one of the three ponies that had boarded the ship with him. Sure, the Reindeer was a yearling, and thus no longer a foal. But he still needed watching, not because he wasn't trust worthy or dishonest, but because he was far to curious. The saying was that curiosity killed the cat, and he was certain that the yearling's mother would be furious if it turned out to be true that curiosity also killed the deer. And so, here he was, standing around and watching as an over excited young Reindeer darted around the ship. How in Azuyan had he gotten stuck on baby sitting duty again? And where was the foal's mother when he needed her?
As if on cue, there was a large clatter and the sound of something rolling across the deck. "Salieri!" Soul snapped as he turned his head to see that the younger stallion had somehow managed to knock over a few barrels that were on the ships deck. "Would it be to much to ask that you not get into trouble?" For goddess's sake, where was Keke? They were nearing the destination now and he hadn't seen hide nor horn of her in ages.
Salieri (SP: 30)
Items: A thick brown cloak and snow goggles (previously owned by Soul). A shiny pebble and angry cabbage.
Bio: Salieri is an obnoxiously happy Reindeer that delights in games and adventures. He also possesses a very active imagination and, usually, can't sit still or pay attention to things for a long period of time. He is still quite young, only a yearling, so his antlers have not folly grown in and his body hasn't quite caught up with itself, leaving him with a lanky and awkward appearance. as well as an even greater thirst for adventure even though he is color blind and only sees in shades of grey.
Pets: Sir Pecksalot - A mousy brown and white rooster (seen as gray and white by Salieri).
Salieri looked up from where he was now sprawled on the ground when Soul walked up to him. "Sorry sir, but I had to see if I could sit on the barrels you see. I mean. Sir Pecksalot can. Why not me?" he said quickly, a smile still bright on his face. The yearling than dragged himself back onto his feet and resumed his curious and excited exploration of the ship. He hadn't been on a ship in ages! This was going to be simply amazing! As the stallion trotted another lap around the deck, he stopped. what was that? Something shiny in the sea? "Oooooohh." Curiously, the young buck poked his head over the railing and stared at the water, watching as the sun was thrown by the wake of the boat.
Calixa was born in the Winter Isles. Once she was able to take care of herself, her mother and father left to search for a quiet spot in Azuyan where they could live their lives away from the battle of KORR and LSPP.
Calixa herself joined LSPP in a fit of rage against them, for they were not allianced anywhere, just drifting in between. She started to understand why they chose to not choose and now questions herself for being irrational and not thinking before her choice. She has become somewhat of a wanderer, just searching for her family.
Calixa glanced over the railing of the boat. The water fit the description that the poster had advertised this adventure as: mysterious. It was a murky green, and one could hardly see ones own reflection, let alone anything in the depths below. It was eerie, but she was used to eerie. She had been on many boats before this, and had travelled to many far off lands. This wasn't anything new to her, and in fact, she was a teeny bit disappointed.
"Would it be to much to ask that you not get into trouble?"
Calixa glanced over at the stallion. It seemed that the valkyrie was a bit tense about his travelling companion. She wasn't surprised though. The reindeer, in her opinion, was bordering on young for a voyage of this sorts. Certainly however, the valkie wasn't going to let him get in trouble... not like there was going to be much trouble on this voyage. She found that the more a voyage was advertised as dangerous, the less exciting it really was.
She watched the reindeer intently as he trotted over, leaned over the railing, and looked at the water.
"What is so interesting in the water?" she inquired, looking at the young reindeer(Salieri).
((We will wait for a couple more people, and then I'll get on with the plot ))
"What is so interesting in the water?"
Salieri's ears swiveled in the direction of the voice before he tore his gaze from the water to look at the speaker. Briefly, the young buck allowed himself to look at the white doe that had appeared before him (Calixa). His eyes and mind habitually searching for a prominent trait that he hadn't seen before and would thus be an apt calling card. Grey eyes wandered over the doe's face briefly and stopped at her cheeks. Freckles. "The light's bouncing off it and dancing," he said with a smile, "I thought it was pretty." Shrugging, the young buck threw another glance at the water before giving up on it and turning back to face the Black Freckled Doe. Strange, he hadn't seen such a white doe before. She looked sparkly and shiny like the water! "Hey Miss. May I ask why you're headed to the isles too? I'm a little curious."
Grimm (SP: 1)
Alliance: None though admires many big, strong and evil overlords.
Items: Jeweled gauntlets and a regal purple and golden cloak.
Magic: Can lift up 1 foot off the ground for 10 minutes.
Bio: Grimm is dangerously curious and nosy. Often becoming extremely interested in what others have to hide. She'll go to her deathbed trying to dig up secrets. Truly a "Curiosity killed the cat" scenario for her end.
Despite her peculiar colors, she likes to think of herself as a rather classy and delicate lady. She is graceful and enjoys fluttering her eyelashes at young stallions to get what she wants. Even though it usually doesn't work out. Grimm has an odd admiration for many evil overlords and villains, she thinks that they are incredibly charming.
Grimm swayed with the rolling currents beneath the ship. He heart beat with anticipation, looking out on the waters for any sign of an island. This felt like something she could only DREAM about- A ship set out to a mysteeeerious island, boarded with a variety of ponies. She let her mind wander, thinking about the possibility of treasure or what secrets the place held. Now Grimm, she told herself with the weakest 'stern' face, don't get too ahead of yourself. Even if it didn't hold any legends, this could be thought of as a lovely vacation. An island getaway. Any way the chipper Unicorn looked at it, this was all great news.
Still facing the ocean, she let her eyes wander around the ship. Exactly what kind of people were there on this lovely cruise? Grimm just couldn't wait to start striking up conversations. She was naturally a social butterfly, schmoozing her way till she got what she wanted. Or at least trying. A smile and little flirting didn't always get through, sigh. At an wave a little more powerful then her delicate self would like, she stumbled, letting out a sharp and awkward, 'errp' and possibly falling onto some pony.
Alliance: Herself, Although thinking back about KORR...
Items: Flaming Tomato, Vial of Hot spings water and a Shaevos feather (And all seen above).
Bio: A Compassionate mare who loves to extend her watchful eye to new friends. Recently becoming a bit of a shut in after her final days with KORR, not quite knowing what to do with herself.
Keeping too the other side of the boat, enjoying the peace, was Keke. Oh goddess above did it ever feel nice to get out again, almost the same feeling from when she had first left her island for new adventure. But not quite, nothing could ever replace how utterly terrified she had felt the first time she had left, not mention the guilt. But looky here! Now feeling rather refreshed and elated she was! What a great way to start off this adventure. If she would even call it that, it was mostly a way to get herself OUT of her room.
After all the places she had gone, geysers, snowy wastelands, giant reindeer kingdoms...one would think she wouldnt find this place creepy. But none the less, she did. Perhaps she had lost her confident edge along with her faith in Korr? Nooooo, Never. Plus, she had been trying to get that back recently...
Perhaps it was time to stop the day dreaming and get to the real point of this whole trip, meeting new poines. Being cramped in the same castle for...how long was it now? Long. Just long. That was the only way to put it. Well, anyways, it had its tole on poor Keke. It was time to change that now. Leaving the edge of the boat for the socializing deck, Keke just seemed to watch. She felt the boat rock as it hit a rouge wave, sending even Keke a bit off balance. However, it wasn't till something or somepony rather fell on her that she really noticed it.
"O-oh! My apologies! That was a rather big wave we hit, wasn't it?" She gave a small, forced laugh, trying to add her usual friendly Keke smile, looking back at the oddly coloured unicorn mare. She hadn't really seen such fine new patterns, just another thing that made Keke a recent hermit. However she didn't comment on it, keeping with her one sentance greeting. She hoped this whole trip didn't turn out a failure.
"Hey Miss. May I ask why you're headed to the isles too? I'm a little curious."
"Sorry to disappoint, but my reason isn't very interesting. I'm just coming along for a thrill; going on adventures like this is what I enjoy. I find it hard to have fun anywhere else."
She smiled at the nice young reindeer pony.
Pandora excused herself from the bright coloured earthpony's company and wandered on deck. The island they were heading to finally seemed to be close... in fact looming over them close. She squinted to see if she could see a dock at shore, but it was too foggy to tell.
A bit nervously, she wandered up to the top deck to see who was steering the boat... except nobody was at the wheel. Maybe this was normal? She wasn't sure, since this was her first time, but she was still nervous. She quickly trotted down and in to the captain's quarters, hoping to find the captain there. She had met him on the boat a day in to the voyage, and hadn't seen him since.
His rooms were a bit messy, but suited him, or atleast Pandora's idea that she had of him. However, he wasn't there, and she had a feeling that he wasn't anywhere on the boat. She glanced quickly around the room to see if there were any clues about where he went, then ran back up on deck.
"Hey guys?" she called to the group of ponies on deck. "Maybe I'm just paranoid, but I can't find the captain, and we are approaching shore quickly, and I can't see a dock, and nobody is steering, and..." she gasped, and got her breath back.
"Anyways, I'm completely freaked out! What do you guys suppose we do?"
Soul let out an exasperated sigh when Salieri wandered off mid sentence. He supposed he'd gotten used to the young Reindeer's lack of attention span, but it was still irritating. Shaking his head slowly, the red stallion looked around again for Keke. Practically yelling out in success and excitement when he finally spotted her familiar green shape.
Quickly, the stallion moved toward the mare, he really needed to talk to her now. "Keke," he said, a stern tone still in his voice from having been talking to her son, "Salieri. You're turn to watch him. If not I swear to the goddesses I'm going to kill him. He's driving me up the walls of the shi- who's this?" Soul was brought out of his minor tirade when he finally noticed the other mare (Grimm) that Keke had apologizing to.
Before the stallion could ask anymore questions however, a black Purr mare (Pandora) had appeared and started rambling about a missing captain. Wait. Missing captain? Didn't the ship kinda need a captain in order to work. "Wait. what do you mean the captain is gone? Who's driving the ship?" he said, feeling a lump of unease beginning to form in his chest.
"Sorry to disappoint, but my reason isn't very interesting. I'm just coming along for a thrill; going on adventures like this is what I enjoy. I find it hard to have fun anywhere else."
"Oh no. I'm not disappointed at all!" Salieri said, still grinning broadly at the doe (Calixa), "It seems like we're here for very similar reasons actually! It's been far to long sense I was anywhere really exciting. So my parents and I decided to join this little adventuring party. Seems like it could be a lot of fun!" The young buck nodded his head vigorously, a hopeful smile engraved on his face.
"Oh miss. I don't think I properly introduced myself, I'm sorry," the young buck said, the thought quickly flicking through his head, "My name is Salieri. It's a pleasure to meet you." After finishing his rather quick paced introduction, Salieri bowed his head. Upon raising his head again, the stallion was distracted by the appearence of a black CatDeer (Pandora). What were the CatDeer called again? P-somethings right? Well whatever she was, the Black Cat Deer was saying something important, judging y the look on her face.
"Maybe I'm just paranoid, but I can't find the captain, and we are approaching shore quickly, and I can't see a dock, and nobody is steering, and...""Anyways, I'm completely freaked out! What do you guys suppose we do?"
"Ooooohhhhh." Salieri beamed at the Pretty Freckled Doe (Calixa) again, "now this is interesting. Where do you suppose Mr. Captain went?" Clearly the young deer wasn't fazed in the slightest about the disappearance, or any potential danger that came with it.
Pandora looked at the red valkyrie.
"Well, I don't really know what I mean the captain is gone! I can't hardly believe it myself. I met him a couple of days ago, and now, and now he isn't in his quarters, and there isn't any pony steering the ship! And the ship is heading for shore, and I don't know what is going to happen if we hit the shore! I don't know anything about this stuff! Please tell me you can fix this!"
She was completely freaking out, and she knew it. She hoped someone on this ship knew how to fix this problem, because she had no idea how.
"now this is interesting. Where do you suppose Mr. Captain went?"
"Hmm..." A concerned frown formed on Calixa's face. This didn't sound like a very safe situation, but she wasn't sure. The black purr did seem a bit new to this, so maybe she was over reacting? Was the situation really this bad?
"I have no idea where the Captain went..." She glanced over the railing, and towards the front of the ship. From what she could tell through the fog, the shore was getting dangerously close to them.
Hidden in the Dark (SP: 6)
Items: A dagger and a brown satchel with miscellaneous items. (Leave out all the items she's wearing)
Bio: Her father was never around during her childhood, so she only had her mother growing up. Her mother had other children to take care of, though, so she was constantly being ignored and abandoned. She fled to the streets and began to steal things that her mother never provided her with. She became very angry and mad that she had a pathetic childhood and left her home, never going back. She turned to stealing for solace and to thrive out on the streets.
Magic: Starting to see the beginning of the ability to create globs of light.
Hidden sat silently in her cabin, waiting for the boat to dock. She didn't bother to look out the window, there was nothing but fog. Setting down her satchel on a table, she brushed out some of her mane. She was determined to try and start a new life here. A better one, with less stealing and more of a new page. She was sick of always being the one that people looked down on. Looking up in the mirror, she could see the window behind her head. The clearing of the islands began to come into view. Setting down the brush, she went over and walked out of her door.
"G-goodness I'm sorry! It sure was," Grimm said, fighting to keep back an embarressed blush, stepping back slightly from the mare she had just knocked into. Refined ladies were NOT supposed to go bumbling and crashing around. That was quite the slip up. She shrugged her cape back in place, only to just be picked back up by the light wind.
Before she could even begin projecting her usual gossipy ways onto the Mare, a red Valkyrie trudged up, going off about something. From his scowl, he didn't seem too happy about it. Grimm's looked him over, trying to not be too obvious. Oh my, what a nice build he had...
"Grimm," She blurted out before Keke could say a thing, cheeks now definitely heating up. Why why why did she say that so quickly? That was very desperate, wasn't it? Get yourself together, stallions do not like desperate. "Pleasure to meet you two," Grimm lifted her head high, keeping her smile confident and soft but not quite arrogant. She had perfected the look after practicing in front of her reflection for her life. Oh wait, a foal? She suppressed a pout, were these two... together? Well darn.
Her attention was captured by a Purr that seemed absolutely distraught, and after listening to her words she could see why. "Y-You're joking right?!" Grimm asked, sided with a short and anxious laugh, it held no humor. She felt her stomach clench with worry as she saw the shore drawing near. "Maybe someone on board knows how to operate a ship?" She suggested, with the way the shore drifted so dangerously closer made her want to volunteer herself to try. But she wasn't an idiot, she was a lady. Surely someone else knew something about boats, right?!
Name: Tir Luke Von Fabra Mcdol
Magic: Earth [he has yet to discover what his earth powers can do]
Bio: Tir is a very odd moutain boy to say at least. He is a bit shy also along with been oddly spoken. Many ponies are confused with his speach but he is all in all a good fellow. Once you figure out his speach.
Tir comes up the steps since someone has ask to find the captain. He was looking high and then low for him. He hadn't seen or sight of the captain at all, his nevers took over as he speaks allowed.
"Boat haunted is ship this maybe, Captain the find can't I."
He looks around at over at the crew, as he looks around as he walks along the crew, he notice a Torquise reindeer stallion: Salieri. He calms walks over to with his head down a bit low , wings tuck towards his side as then puts on a gentle smile towards the other green stallion.
"Name you is what? Short for Tir called I'm but, McDohl Fabra Von Luke Tir I'm, hi!"
He really hopes his odd speaking doesn't scare the other but then again he got a feeling he will not be making any friends again. He blows his green mane out of his face then smiles.
